Birding Corpus Christi
Following one of the coastal birding trails in Corpus Christi in Texas almost guarantees to find a huge diversity of bird species. The first trail was built in 1990 - it is the world’s first trail for birding. The region Corpus Christi is habitat for a great diversity and number of bird species: eastern habitats meet with dry western habitats and tropical areas blend into sub-tropical and temperate areas. Next to the beach there are brushy rangelands and rivers. Different migration routes converge at the coastal bend of Corpus Christi. The area of and around Corpus Christi offers a perfect habitat for many different resident, migrant and accidental birds.
Common residents in and around Corpus Christi are Blue and Green Jays, Red-bellied and Golden-fronted Woodpeckers, Long-billed and Curve-billed Thrashers and Carolina and Bewick’s Wrens.
